Future Facing Poetries II : developing the visual, asemic, innovative
A correspondence workshop course, beginning April 17th 2022 and running seven sessions / weeks. £200. Facilitated by Steven J Fowler. For booking, via paypal, please click here
This online course will allow poets to explore and develop a specific project of their own making and conception - be it a book, collection, sequence, performance, film, exhibition, or idea of any stripe in the fields of innovative poetry, visual literature and asemic writing, with all its associated practises.
Future Facing Poetries is designed specifically as a chance to develop work that explores the principles of innovative poetry by evoking that which is often overlooked - from ordering, editing, hybridity, methodology, production - subtle judgements of how a work grows from a spark into actuality - alongside suggestions around more methodological concerns such as composition, abstraction, design, colour, the hand-made, the illustrative - all affirming the possibilities of the poem in the 21st century.
All methods and concepts are welcome with participants sharing drafts and developments as the weeks go by on a course-specific forum. As such, the course is adaptable and asynchronous, with prompts between the participants posts and the collective feedback. FFP is both a chance to grow a pre-existing concept, supported by peers, or to share thoughts which may grow into a fully realised work.
